The rainbow is everywhere you look in the world today. It has come to stand for gay pride, and even Medium.com has adorned itself in the colours of the rainbow. It is with warning though, because the rainbow is a symbol of God, who is truth and light.
The rainbow is biblical and appeared in Genesis 9:13 after the flood that had destroyed everyone else but the eight remaining human beings, plus the male and female of every animal. It is a symbol of God’s faithfulness and mercy. God would no longer send a flood again to destroy mankind.
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth – Genesis 9:13
The rainbow is also described in Revelation 4:3 situated around the throne.
3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald – Revelation 4:3
The rainbow should not a symbol of pride today, because pride is sinful in the eyes of God, and the opposite of humility, whom the character of God is. Satan is proud and still wants to be like the most high today, so why wouldn’t he want to take the world’s people there too.
12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit – Isaiah 14:12-15
The rainbow should not be used to decorate and promote homosexuality as a good thing, because God created male and female to become one flesh, not female female and not male male. There are two genders – male and female. Two men cannot create a child, neither can two women create a child. Only male and female create a child – a wonderful supernatural act of God.
A homosexual lifestyle is against the will of God, and even though modern bible versions can make it appear that God is okay with it, God is light. In Him is no darkness. God has preserved one book – the King James Bible.
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all – 1 John 1:5
Modern bible versions do not retain the pure Words of God, and take away from God’s word, and it is dangerous to do so.
2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you – Deuteronomy 4:2
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not – John 1:1-4
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump – Galatians 5:9
Jesus Christ is the manifest Word of God.
4 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth – John 1:14
God has magnified his word above all his names.
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name – Psalm 138:2
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times – Psalm 12:6
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him – Proverbs 30:5
God is love, but we must be perfect to go to heaven. Jesus Christ died for everybody’s sin in this world, but we must receive remission of sins through His blood by trusting in His finished work on the cross.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life – John 3:16
There has become such an emphasis today on God hating homosexuality, but it is just one sin. God hates all sin because it separates us from his holiness, but He loves souls.
God died in the flesh as Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. He would rather die than live without us – that is unconditional love and amazing grace, because none of us deserve it.
Jesus mentions believe 85 times in the gospel of John. Belief in Him saves us from the wages of sin, which is death. Salvation (eternal life) is a gift of God that none of us deserve, but God gives it us through Jesus Christ, His only begotten son.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23
The rainbow is a symbol of God’s promise to never bring a flood again to destroy mankind, and yet the rainbow symbol is populating this world to promote sinful acts like pride and homosexuality.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance – 2 Peter 3:9
While God is longsuffering to us now, the time will come when God will throw HIs wrath upon the earth during the tribulation period. It is a period that no human being is going to want to endure, so trust Christ as saviour today while there is still time.
We have all sinned and come short of God’s glory.
for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God – Romans 3:23
The trouble with humans in that we try to put God in a box and make him into someone who must play by our rules. It is foolish to do so. There will come a day when the mockers and scoffers of God will see how foolish they have been in rejecting Jesus Christ as their one and only saviour.
I cannot fathom who would reject the beautiful gift of salvation. The answer why people do not come to Christ is the word that they paint as a rainbow today – PRIDE.
If you truly truly can see that there is corruptness in your flesh, call upon Almighty God today, confessing that you have sinned against him, acknowledging that you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin. Jesus was buried and rose from the grave. We can be born again into the Kingdom of God upon trust in Him. Please put your trust in Him today for remission of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, the nature that cannot sin, although our flesh nature remains.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? – Romans 10:13-14
We are saved by grace through faith in Christ, not of ourselves. Salvation is a gift of God, not of works.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast – Ephesians 2:8-9
