Babies in the Womb Feel Pain and Abortion is Sin Because it Takes the Innocent Life of an Unborn Child

abortion is sin

Abortion is a controversial subject, but the truth is that abortion is sin because it takes the innocent life of an unborn child. Whether the woman has made a mistake in not using protection during sex, or the conception was caused by rape, abortion is sin. No one has the right to take a human life, except God.

In Genesis, God frequently told people to go forth and multiply, or He added the multiply.

And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earthGenesis 1:22

And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earthGenesis 1:22

The LORD God made Adam first, and then Eve as a help meet. The instructions are very simple, and yet humankind has made their own rules as to what is right and what is wrong. Some people are eugenicists and play God by planing to cull the population, through various means like vaccines. Bill Gates is a famous one, as was Winston Churchill.

The ‘normal’ worldview of today is to get God out of education and society, and then sin no longer exists, and no one is accountable for wrong decisions, because as long as society tells us what is right and wrong, that’s all that matters. The fact of the matter though is that Jehovah God does exist. He is a living God who sees and hears everything. Yes, abortion is sin because it takes the innocent life of another, but other sins include gossip, slander, lying, adultery, coveting, and stealing. We all stand guilty before God, because the Word of God tells us so.

for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;Romans 3:23

When a woman who has aborted a child is proud of that decision, this is a dangerous place to be. The more a person rejects the light of Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, the harder it is for a person to see that they have sinned against a Holy God, and to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Sin is accountable to a Holy God, and its wages are death. God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to save sinners, so nobody has to spend eternity in the Lake of Fire, and yet most people are trying to establish their own righteousness, and have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God, which is by Christ.

Research concludes that a child in the womb can feel pain as early as 12 weeks. This text is copyright from Charlotte Lozier Institution in an article titled Science of Fetal Pain at 20 weeks.

  • A comprehensive review of the scientific literature[1] including neural development, psychology of pain sensation, and moral implications of fetal pain, concludes that unborn babies may experience pain as early as 12 weeks.
The review notes that neural connections from periphery to brain are functionally complete after 18 weeks.
“Nevertheless, we no longer view fetal pain (as a core, immediate, sensation) in a gestational window of 12–24 weeks as impossible based on the neuroscience.”
The review points out that a fetus may not experience pain in the same way as an adult, but does indeed experience pain as a real sensation, and that this pain experience has moral implications.
Significant because this unbiased review of the scientific evidence and agreement on existence of fetal pain, as early as 12 weeks and certainly after 18 weeks, comes from two highly credentialed medical professionals, one pro-choice.
“The two authors came together to write this paper through a shared sense that the neuroscientific data, especially more recent data, could not support a categorical rejection of fetal pain.”
  • Embryological development shows presence of pain sensory mechanisms and neurophysiology. The basic anatomical organization of the human nervous system is established by 6 weeks.[2] The earliest neurons in the cortical brain (the part responsible for thinking, memory, and other higher functions) are established starting at 6 weeks.[3] Nerve synapses for spinal reflex are in place by 10 weeks.[4] Sensory receptors for pain (nociception) develop first around the mouth at 7 weeks , and are present throughout the skin and mucosal surfaces by 20 weeks.[5] Connections between the spinal cord and the thalamus (which functions in pain perception in fetuses as well as in adults[6]) are relatively complete by 20 weeks.[7]
  • Contradicting the claim that the brain cortex is necessary to experience pain and suffering, decordate individuals as well as animals lacking higher cortical structures obviously do feel pain. In fact, the human brain cortex does not fully mature until approximately 25 years of age, yet infants, children, and teenagers obviously can experience pain.[8]
  • Fetal reactions provide evidence of pain response. The unborn baby reacts to noxious stimuli with avoidance reactions and stress responses. As early as 8 weeks the baby exhibits reflex movement during invasive procedures.[9] There is extensive evidence of a hormonal stress response by unborn babies as early as 18 weeks [10] including “increases in cortisol, beta-endorphin, and decreases in the pulsatility index of the fetal middle cerebral artery.”[11] Two independent studies in 2006 used brain scans of the sensory part of unborn babies’ brains, showing response to pain.[12] They found a “clear cortical response” and concluded there was “the potential for both higher-level pain processing and pain-induced plasticity in the human brain from a very early age.”

How any woman can say that a fetus is not a human being is hard of heart. God has given us the ability to discern right from wrong, even in our sinful flesh. It’s called a conscience. Life is life. Life is precious and abortion is sin. Planned Parenthood may be legal and deemed correct because society says it is, but it is prideful and plays God in taking the life of another. Planned Parenthood may be legal, but it is most certainly not God’s will. We are to pray for our leaders, and yet God will hold these people accountable too for the decisions that they make whether right or wrong. Taking another human life is always wrong, because God says that it is. Life starts in the womb. An unborn baby has life.

Jesus was a child in the womb. John the Baptist was a child in the womb. You and I were a child in the womb.

Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb? – Job 31:15

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well – Psalm 139:14

As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all – Ecclesiastes 11:5

Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; – Isaiah 44:24

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations – Jeremiah 1:5

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins – Matthew 1:21

And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: – Luke 1:41

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS – Luke 1:31

For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy – Luke 1:44

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger – Luke 2:12

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger – Luke 2:16

And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb – Luke 2:21

God is the creator of life. He created you. He created me. He gives life during every conception. Some children are born healthy, some with disorders or diseases, while other women miscarry, and others children die in the womb during birth. Life is a gift of God that no human has the right to take away. Planned parenthood is satanic and and its devotees and supporters are playing God through their pride and lack of fear of God.

I pray that the women who have had an abortion will seek the Lord for forgiveness. Yes, God forgives everyone. All sin has been paid for on the cross by Jesus. He was buried and victoriously rose from the dead on the third day. All that we can do as mere sinners is to believe on the Son of God who was bruised for our iniquities, and by his stripes we are healed. The blood of Jesus has paid for all sin, and God gave His son freely to save us all. God wants none to perish, but all to come to repentance. In this context, God wants all to see their need for a Saviour in Jesus because good works cannot take away sin. We all deserve hellfire because we all stand guilty, and yet Jesus bore the wrath of God in our place. Salvation is nothing of ourselves, but entirely a gift of God given through the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boastEphesians 2:8-9

Through this precious gift of everlasting life, which is inclusive to all of humanity by God’s amazing grace, we need our sins forgiven because the wages of sin is death and eternal separation from God in hell, and Jesus Christ is the sinless lamb of God who took away the sin of the world once for all.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the worldJohn 1:29

Upon faith in Him, the very righteousness of Jesus Christ is imputed onto our account, and we are now sinless in the eyes of God.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him – 2 Corinthians 5:21

The sin nature remains, as Paul spoke of his battle with the flesh in Romans 7, but we have full assurance of eternal life because Jesus paid it all. Why anyone would call God’s plan of salvation cheap grace, or easy believism, has no understanding of their own corrupt sin nature and God’s demand for perfection, and yet we free grace believers have believed God’s record of His Son, and His perfect atoning work. What have we to boast of in our own merit? Nothing. Jesus gets all the glory.

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God – 1 John 5:10-13

God will forgive you if you have aborted your child. There is nothing beyond God’s forgiveness. While the roman soldiers were ruthlessly scourging Jesus over and over, beating him in his weakness, spitting on him, and mocking him as he bore the sins of the world on the cross in his sinless body, Jesus loved them. Even in his anguish, Jesus was full of grace and truth, who is the Word of God who became flesh, as it says in John 1:14.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was madeJohn 1:1-3

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truthJohn 1:14

And if you are pregnant and cannot see a way out, but through abortion, please know that abortion is wrong and is never the answer. God can open doors. He can bring the right people into your life to help you. He can work through believers, and unbelievers alike. Most of all, God wants us to depend on Him. We were made to have an intimate relationship with Him, but sin has tainted that relationship, and Jesus is our reconciliation to a Holy God. God has given you a gift and you must give that child the right to life.
