As a Christian, it is not only my duty to pray for our leaders, but also to love one another by sharing the glorious gospel of Christ. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Do you have 100 percent assurance of heaven when you die?
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Scripture tells us that we can know that we have eternal life when we believe that Jesus Christ alone made the complete payment for our sin,
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God – 1 John 5:13
Jesus is the Son of God and his name in the Greek is 2424 Iesous defined Jehovah is Salvation. Christ is not his surname, but is a title and in the Greek is 5547 Christos, defined as the Messiah, anointed one.
Therefore, this translates that Jesus is Jehovah God who is our Saviour, and as Christ is a title of the Messiah, Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah, the Saviour of the world.
Scripture tells us that in the beginning, the Word was with God and the Word was God.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made – John 1:1-3
Scripture tells us that the Word was made flesh.
4 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. – John 1:14
Scripture says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Sin means to miss the mark.
for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; – Romans 3:23
Scripture also tells us that the wages of sin is death.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 6:23
Notice that scripture says that we have all earned death, because the wages of sin is separation from God for eternity in the lake of fire.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire – Revelation 20:15
We must be born again with the Holy Spirit to escape the second death.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death – Revelation 2:11
Scripture never contradicts, but defines itself. Who is he that overcometh?
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? – 1 John 5:4-5
How can we have our name written in the book of life? We need the very righteousness of God. We must be born again into God’s family.
Only those with the imputed righteousness of God, whose sins are washed away, are written in the Lamb’s book of life, will enter heaven, because we are now sinless in the eyes of God. Only Jesus Christ, the perfect sinless Lamb of God could make us righteous before a Holy God.
God loved us so much that he came in the body of Jesus Christ to die for our sins to make us perfect, rather than to live without us for all eternity.
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins – Acts 10:43
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him – 2 Corinthians 5:21
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission – Hebrews 9:22
When Jesus hung on the cross, his last words spoken were “It is finished”.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost – John 19:30
Finished in the greek is 5055 teleo, which means to bring to a close, to finish, to fulfill, to carry out the contents of a command.
Jesus who is God in the flesh, made the complete payment for all sin, so that we wouldn’t have to be separated from him for all eternity in the lake of fire.
and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world – 1 John 2:2
All of the Old Testament priests made sin offerings for themselves, and for their people, but these sin offerings could never take away sin permanently. Jesus’ sacrifice did. Scripture makes this clear.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; – Hebrews 10:11-12
Scripture makes it clear that salvation is a gift of God given freely by God’s grace that we receive when we put our faith in Jesus Christ as our Saviour.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast – Ephesians 2:8-9
God bestowed his amazing kindness toward us in sending his Son to die for our sins.
Jesus is the second person of the Godhead, God the Son, co-equal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. This is how much God loves us.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins – 1 John 4:10
Upon hearing the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, then believing that Jesus is God our Saviour who died for our sins, the Holy Spirit seals us giving us a new righteous nature that cannot sin.
in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, – Ephesians 1:13
Jesus became a sin offering for us so that we wouldn’t have to be separated from the Father for all eternity. Christianity is exclusive and the only way to heaven, because Jesus is the only way.
Religion cannot save, including the sacraments of Roman Catholicism, Mormonism, Jehovah’s witnesses, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, New Age, Humanism, Seventh Day Adventists, Quakers, Christian Thought etc. All of these religions believe that human effort can earn merits with God, or they add works on top of the payment for sin that Christ made believing that his payment was not sufficient. Most preachers add works post salvation, rejecting the all sufficiency of Christ. They do not rightly divide salvation (all of God) from discipleship (serving Christ for rewards at the Judgement Seat of Christ, and blessings in this life). A continuation in sin can result in God’s chasening, and potential rewards lost, but never a loss of salvation, because God seals us with the Holy Spirit, and God cannot deny himself.
if we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself – 2 Timothy 2:13
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance – Romans 11:29
This particular definition of repentance is the greek 278 ametamelétos, which is defined as not to be repented of, about which no change of mind can take place, not affected by change of mind. God will not change his mind about salvation, which is a gift. Jesus’ death paid for all sin, and we are made righteous only when we place our complete trust in Him.
Salvation is only available through Jesus Christ alone, and it is freely available to everyone. God is no respector of persons; all must receive Christ exactly the same way, through faith in His shed blood.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me – John 14:6
whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; – Romans 3:25
This verse does not mean that Jesus paid for only our sins until the present time that we trust in Him. Jesus paid for all sin. He was the unblemished, unspotted Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world. If we had to keep the law to stay saved, this makes salvation difficult and works-based, because the sin nature still remains even when we are saved. However, upon our trust in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection as full payment for our sin, we are gifted with a new nature, the Holy Spirit, that cannot sin. We are now sinless in the eyes of God. The righteousness of God is imputed onto our account. The Old Testament prophets were awaiting the promise of the Messiah as the one time payment for all sins, as their sin offerings could never take away sin.
But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins – Hebrews 10:3-4
And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; – Hebrews 10:11-12
Jesus was buried, and victoriously rose from the dead on the third day. He was so pure and sinless that death had no hold of him.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead – 1 Peter 1:3
His disciples, and then over 500 people witnessed the resurrected Christ.
5 and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 after that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time – 1 Corinthians 15:5-8
What an amazing gift God has given to us in sending his only begotten son, Jesus, who bore our sins on the cross. Salvation is nothing to do with ourselves, but everything to do with the finished work of Jesus Christ.
We receive the gift of salvation through faith in Christ. We repent (greek verb 3340 metanoea, noun 3341 metanoia (change of mind) knowing that trusting our works will not earn us favour with God, because Isaiah 64:6 says that our righteousness’s are as filthy rags, and to put our faith in Christ who is the only one who can give us that imputed righteousness of God.
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness’s are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away – Isaiah 64:6
If we deny Christ’s payment for our sin by believing that it was not enough, we call God a liar. Scripture is clear. Jesus made it clear that the works and the will of God is to believe on him.
28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent – John 6:28-29
39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day – John 6:39-40
Seeth is the greek word, 2334 theoreo, which means to view mentally, consider.
Religion is man trying to earn salvation by human works, but biblical Christianity shows the great love that God has for the world in sending his only begotten son, who has died for all sin.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved – John 3:16-17
It is important that we teach a gospel that explains the simplicity that is in Christ, because Christ has paid for all sin, being the Lamb of God, and we need to believe God’s record of his Son.
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world – John 1:29
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son – 1 John 5:10
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone – apart from human works. Scripture makes this clear.
MANY MANY churches and pastors worldwide are today butchering the simple gospel of Christ either front loading the gospel with additional works like you need to be baptized, turn from sins, give your life to Christ, receive Christ into your heart, give your heart to Christ, live a faithful life etc, or back loading it by saying that if you don’t live a faithful life you can lose your salvation, or you were never saved to begin with. If a person believes that you can lose salvation, they are trusting in themselves and not the all sufficiency of Christ’s death, burial, and victorious resurrection, they reject God’s record of His Son. This places a person into bondage and back under the law. The law cannot save. The law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: – Romans 3:20-22
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. – Galatians 3:24-26
How beautifully simple scripture uplifts the fact that only faith in Jesus Christ can save us.
Scripture makes it clear that human works do not pay for sin, and Isaiah 64:6 makes it clear that our righteousness’s are as filthy rags before God. Only Christ can give us that righteousness of God that we all need, but we must receive him as our Saviour through simple childlike faith.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him – Hebrews 11:6

It is SO SO important to separate salvation from discipleship.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness – Romans 4:5
5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; – Titus 3:5
Fellowship with God after we are saved will earn us rewards at the judgment seat of Christ, and blessings in this life, but works have no bearing on eternal life, which is entirely a gift of God.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire – 1 Corinthians 3:10-15
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad – 2 Corinthians 5:10
Our flesh nature may believe that salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone is too good to be true, but Christ has paid for all sin. This is God’s report of His Son. We just need to receive the gift of eternal life by trusting Christ as our one and only way to heaven.
God wants all humankind to be saved, and it is possible for all of humanity to be saved, as the payment Jesus made was good on everyone’s behalf, but it must be received through faith alone in Christ alone.
who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth – 1 Timothy 2:4
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance – 2 Peter 3:9
Only Jesus could do that for us, which we cannot do for ourselves.
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance – Luke 15:7
